Advanced euthanasia training is provided by Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy (CAETA). The mission of CAETA is to provide outstanding education in companion animal euthanasia to improve the overall experience for the pet, caregiver, and veterinary team.
There are 10 hours in the core program. Each hour is around 50 minutes in duration, including time for short quizzes to test your comprehension of the material. Throughout the hours, you will be provided time to listen to the slides, view videos, and practice the concepts in simple, yet important activities. The hours must be completed in order from 1 to 7 during the online portion of the CAETA program. Completion of one grants access to the next until all 7 hours are finished.
The remaining 3 hours of educational content will be delivered during the IAAHPC annual conference’s Euthanasia Technique Laboratory (a component of Module 2). This is required to complete your advanced euthanasia training and to become a CAETA graduate.
Ongoing access to the online CAETA library is provided to all graduates and will serve as a resource for your euthanasia training needs. You will be required to register for the CAETA Library as the first activity in Module 5. Registration is complimentary.
